Kelly Jolley

Hello Walcom Ngarrwa Community,

I’m an enthusiastic Science teacher, who has a special interest in Biology and Environmental Science, with 20+ years of experience in secondary education. Through enquiry-based learning, communication and real-world applications, I strive to show the importance of Science in our daily lives. I am dedicated to fostering a passion for learning by creating an inclusive environment where every student can be curious.
Beyond the classroom I’m an avid traveler (with Japan currently at the top of my list of favorite destinations), escaping to the beach when the weather permits and I am an active basketball mum.

It is with great pleasure that I join the inaugural staff team at Walcom Ngarrwa, and I look forward to building bright futures together.

Jessica McCartney

Jessica is so excited to be a part of the foundation team at Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College as a classroom teacher. She has been teaching for 12 years in the Western suburbs, and feels like every year she learns something new from the students that she teaches. Jessica took a short break from teaching, writing educational resources for a tech company and missed the classroom too much, so decided to return to teaching. Jessica’s passion is science education, and getting students excited about science. Facilitating curiosity is what she always aims to do in her classes, believing this can bring out the best possible in her learners.

Jessica has two primary school aged children, so most of her spare time is spent with them and her husband. They like going to the movies, the rugby, and taking their whippet to the park.

Jessica looks forward to meeting and working with all students and families in 2024.
